Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic Imaging (DI) is an important tool for doctors to diagnose and treat diseases. It is used to look inside the body without having to perform surgery. DI can help detect problems such as tumors, heart disease, or infections. It can also be used to determine if a patient has had a stroke or not!

The various types of diagnostic imaging include X-rays, MRI scans, CT scans, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine scans. X-rays are the most common type of DI and are used to take pictures of bones and tissues inside the body. MRI scans use magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of organs in the body. CT scans combine multiple X-ray images into one detailed picture while ultrasound uses sound waves emitted from a probe held near the area being examined. Nuclear medicine involves injecting radioactive tracers into the bloodstream so that they show up on special cameras that can detect them.

Nevertheless, DI isn't always perfect; there may be errors in reading or interpreting results due to human error or technical issues with equipment. Furthermore, all types of imaging have risks associated with them; these include radiation exposure from X-rays and MRI contrast agents which can cause allergic reactions in some patients. Additionally, there are costs involved with each type of imaging which must be taken into consideration when deciding whether it's necessary or not!

Therefore, it is important for health care providers to weigh the risks and benefits before ordering any type diagnostic imaging tests for their patients. With careful consideration given by both healthcare providers and patients alike regarding DI procedures, this invaluable tool can help diagnose and treat many medical conditions safely and effectively!

My experience with Dr. Mir has been fantastic. From the very first meeting through surgery and subsequent follow ups he has been friendly, professional and to the point. He will tell you what needs to happen in order to get you to hopefully feeling better and pain free. I hope I don’t require his services again but if I do, I wouldn’t hesitate.

I was evaluated by 3 surgeons who would not touch me. I had 2 severly pinched nerves in my neck. Fortunately Dr. Mir was recommended to me. He fused 2 cervical levels in my neck and he did such a wonderful job that I am able to move my arms freely and my upper back is pain free for the first time in years. We are currently in the process of getting a surgery done on my lumbar area. I wish I would have done this a long time ago but I was always scared of surgery. Dr. Mir has made the process as smooth as can be and I truly feel he is my Angel. In fact that's what I tell him every time I see him. He is not aggressive in any way and his bedside manner and professionalism is off the charts. The nurses in his surgery center are delightful, and caring and made me feel very comfortable. My recovery went well and my recovery time was shorter than expected. Everyone has been amazing. I wouldn't have back surgery by anyone else. He is truly a miracle worker and my Angel. God has blessed him to bless others.
